Environmental Impairment Liability (EIL)
Provides Property owners coverage for both the sudden and non-sudden (gradual) release of pollutants which may have originated from their property. Environmental Impairment Liability Site Coverage (EIL) is an environmental insurance policy that helps cover the environmental risks that come with owning or operating a facility or site. EIL is also a strategic risk-management mechanism, with coverage that can help protect buyers and sellers from environmental liabilities in business transactions, such as those that can occur in a merger, acquisition or divestiture. EIL provides environmental coverage for losses due to on- or off-site pollution conditions, coverage for pollution conditions resulting from transportation and coverage for owned or non-owned disposal site-related environmental liabilities.
